Rick Speight is a native of Vienna, Virginia and a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, as well as The University of Texas at Austin. He self-published his first book, The Boys From Hicks Drive Vienna, Virginia, in 2018. It’s a collection of tales and adventures experienced while growing up in the suburbs of Washington, DC during the 1960s and 70s. Rick’s second book and first novel, Deadly Summer Secrets, again draws on youthful innocence in northern Virginia, but that’s where the similarities end, for this work is a fictional presentation of actual ruthlessness and all too real political intrigue. Rick lives with his wife, Karen, on the Gulf Coast in beautiful Fairhope, Alabama.
